Kids Promise Charity House No. 65: A New Beginning for Three Generations
On November 15, 2025, Kids Promise officially handed over Charity House No. 65 to the family of Mrs. Bui Thi Tai in Phu Binh hamlet, Phu Huu commune, Dong Thap province. The ceremony marked the completion of more than a month of construction.
Most importantly, it’s the beginning of a safer, more hopeful chapter for three generations who have endured years of hardship and loss. For Mrs. Tai and her family, this new home represents more than solid walls and a roof. It’s a turning point after a long period of uncertainty and grief.
A Family’s Difficult Journey
Mrs. Tai’s family once lived a modest but stable life in a home of their own. That stability was upended when her husband became seriously ill. To cover medical expenses, the family had no option but to sell or mortgage nearly everything they owned, including their house, land, and valuable belongings.
With their resources exhausted, the family’s only option was to move into a temporary hut built by Mrs. Tai’s eldest son. Because the hut was originally built as a fruit store, it wasn’t suitable as a home, measuring less than 4 meters wide and offering cramped, damp living conditions.
The family’s tragedy continued when Mrs. Tai’s eldest son fell seriously ill and passed away more than a year ago, leaving behind a young son. Mrs. Tai’s younger son had taken off work to care for his ill brother, but has since returned to help support his nephew and mother. Meanwhile, Mrs. Tai works washing dishes. At more than 60 years old, she should be able to enjoy some peace in her later years, but has had to keep working to make ends meet.
A Chance to Start Fresh
Despite their resilience, the family’s circumstances have made daily life difficult. Their living conditions make it especially challenging for a young child to study and grow. Recognizing the family’s urgent need, Kids Promise made plans for Mrs. Tai’s family to receive a new home.
With the generous backing of donors, the groundbreaking ceremony for Charity House No. 65 took place on September 29, 2025, on land left to Mrs. Tai by her parents. Over the following weeks, the family’s new home started taking shape.
The completed house covers approximately 40 square meters with a pile foundation, reinforced concrete columns, fully plastered walls, and tile floors. A cold corrugated iron roof protects the family from harsh weather, providing a safe and dry home.

A Home That Brings Security and Hope
During the handover ceremony, Mrs. Tai expressed heartfelt gratitude, relieved that her family will no longer have to fear wind and rain during stormy seasons. For her grandson, the new home will be a stable, quiet, and safe place to study and grow.
This house is more than a shelter. It’s a foundation for renewed confidence and motivation. With their new home, the family will have a chance to rebuild their lives.
