Charity Home #42 Is Dedicated to Widow and Child

We were honored to give our latest Charity Home to Ms. Tran Thi Hanh in Ben Tre province, Vietnam. Only 43 years old, Ms. Hanh is a widow with a 14-year-old child and is struggling to support the both of them.

Before her husband passed away from cancer, the parents both worked as hired laborers. Today, Ms. Hanh climbs coconut trees and sells fruits at a roadside stand. She barely makes enough income to pay for the necessary living expenses.

Ms. Hanh’s sister also lives with her, and the family has tried to help with house repairs. But the aging house was cramped, damp, and flooded during the rainy season. The local community introduced Kids Promise to Ms. Hanh and we were happy to build her a comfortable new home that will not only keep the family safe and dry, but will help the child continue to study and earn good grades.
